Happy Micro in General
Happy Micro is an inorganic product as a catalyst for microorganisms growth and its diversity.
The 100% natural ingredients of Happy Micro are mainly solidified magma and volcano ash.
No, Hppay Micro is not biotech product. It is an inorganic product to support microorganisms. In other words, it makes microorganisms “happy”.
No, Happy Micro doesn’t contain microorganisms. It is an inorganic product as a catalyst for microorganisms growth and its diversity but not microorganism itself.
Yes. It has been examined by JFE Techno-Research, Hiroshima Environment Health Association and Environmental Research Center in Japan.
It is made in Japan with local solidified magma and volcano ash.
We started the research back in 1980s and released the product in 1993.
We saw infrastructure projects in Japan that were not eco-friendly back in 70s and 80s. Our innovator/founder wanted to change that and started his research.
Happy Micro in Wastewater Treatment
With Happy Micro, microorganisms that take care the sludge and particles will be empowered to do better job cleaning during the aeration.
Happy Micro empowers microorganisms to purify the water so the amount of water is less than standardized wastewater treatment. It’s more eco-friendly, lower cost and also low maintenance.
This depends on the type of wastewater treatment facility and also the cost of water and electricity in your country. However, you can estimate this based on the aeration time. In the example of Seafood Processing Plant Wastewater Treatment, they reduced the aeration time from 24 hours to 12 hours.
You can see the improvement within 24 hours. In this Country Park Wastewater Treatment example, BOD, COD, SS and transparency were all improved in one day. If the amount of water is much larger such as a pond or lake, that should take longer time to see the difference.
No, you don’t need to purchase any additional equipment for using Happy Micro to improve the wastewater treatment.
It depends on the type and scale of the facility. Usually it’s effective for years. For example, Happy Micro was used only once for Meiji Temple 20+ years ago and the water is still clean today.
Usually it is 60g per ton but it might vary based on your wastewater treatment facility.

Yes, you can do it by yourself but we recommend to talk to us before you use Happy Micro for your facility.
If it’s a pond or lake, you can simply mix water with Happy Micro and spread it into the pond or lake. If it’s a wastewater treatment facility, it’s better to talk to us first so we can provide a suitable instruction.
Happy Micro is 100% natural made out of solidified magma and volcano ash. Even though we don’t know the regulation in every country, as a material blended in the water, Happy Micro should be fine.
Happy Micro in Organic Farming
Microorganisms in the soil are critical to decomposing organic residues and recycling soil nutrients. Since Happy Micro is a catalyst for microorganisms growth and its diversity, it improves the soil for organic farming.
Once the soil is empowered by Happy Micro, it produces higher antioxidant and lower nitrite products. Based on what we know, there are farmers who grow 7x higher antioxidant chili peppers and 30x less nitrite cabbages with Happy Micro without organic/chemical fertilizer.
It depends on your current method growing agricultural products but with Happy Micro, you may raise the price as your products have much higher antioxidant, much lower nitrite and depending on the vegetables/fruits, it might be much sweeter too. We have a farmer growing black edamame that is sweeter than Japanese melon.
Once the soil is properly empowered by Happy Micro, you can see the difference from the very beginning. This example in Japan about wheat compares three different methods and Happy Micro shows a significant result.
No. Your existing equipment is enough to apply Happy Micro for your soil.
As long as you don’t use chemical products (pesticides & fertilizers) and continue to produce, one time use of Happy Micro should make microorganisms in the soil self-sustained.
3ml per 1 square meter is recommended.
Yes. Simply mixing Happy Micro with the soil is fine. If it’s hard to do for some reason, sprinkle Happy Micro on top the soil works too. Feel free to contact us for any questions.
The best timing is after harvesting. Simply mixing Happy Micro with the soil is fine. If it’s hard to do mixing with soil for some reason, sprinkle Happy Micro on top the soil works too.

We have done the examination for a few vegetables/fruits. You can find the method and result from this page. As long as you’re using Happy Micro without chemical pesticides and fertilizers, you should grow products with higher antioxidants. Feel free to contact us for any questions.
Yes, you can. However, you need some time to let microorganisms empowered by Happy Micro purify the contaminated soil. Depending on the level of contamination, this might take a couple of months.
The requirement for each country is different but Happy Micro should be helpful because it naturally supports the microorganisms in the soil. These are links for organic farming criteria in EU and US.
Yes but only natural fertilizer is acceptable. Otherwise, microorganisms in the soil will be negatively impacted.
Happy Micro also makes natural fertilizers odorless and ease to store. You can see the example in this page.
Happy Micro in Livestock
The unpleasant environment including the smell is a common issue among livestock farms. By empowering microorganisms with Happy Micro, they can rapidly and significantly improve the environment.
Happy Micro Water can significantly decrease livestock’s odor as you can read from this Odorless Organic Farming article. That works on animal’s excrement as well so the reuse and storage won’t bother you and your neighbors for the unpleasant smell.
The significant odor might bring trouble such as this farmer in Pennsylvania for $20M lawsuit threat. It depends on the amount of money you currently spend for odor issues that includes the odor of animal body, environment, compost and etc.
It varies based on the scale and level of odor but typically you can “smell” the difference within a few days. If you’re using an odor meter, the improvement can be detected within hours.
No, you don’t. Simply blend Happy Micro to the water animals consume or your storage/tank for organic fertilizer.
For animal drinking water, it’s better to continue feeding them with Happy Micro Water. For the organic fertilizer tank (animal excrement), the effect sustains for more than a couple of years with one time dose.
It’s about 1/1000 of the feces. In this example, we used 300g Happy Micro for 300kg calf feces.. It stays odorless for years with one doze in the beginning (300g). We once took the sludge in the bottom of the tank to a lab for analysis and the result was the compound of the sludge was very close to soil.
Yes you can but if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Simply mixing Happy Micro with the animal drinking water or sprinkle on the environment or mix with fertilizer tank. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Happy Micro is 100% natural made out of solidified magma and volcano ash. Even though we don’t know the regulation in every country, as a material blended in the water or feces, Happy Micro should be fine.
Happy Micro in Aquaculture
Microorganisms play key roles to purify water. Happy Micro empowers them to do better job in aquaculture.
Aquaculture often relies on chemicals and antibiotics to keep aquatic animals alive. Apparently, that’s not good for the animal nor healthy for human beings to consume them. With Happy Micro, farmers can stop using chemicals, antibiotics, less water and equipment to produce healthier and tastier products. You can find an example for eel farming here.
With Happy Micro, farmers can stop using chemicals, antibiotics and saving up to 40% daily fresh water. You can find an example for eel farming here.
It’s better to use Happy Micro in a new facility because microorganisms don’t get along with chemicals and antibiotics. For an existing but empty (no fish) facility, it takes a few weeks for microorganisms to clean and reset the environment. If you have a need to use Happy Micro in a running facility, feel free to contact us.
No. In fact, you need less equipment because many jobs will be done by microorganisms instead of chemicals and machines.
It depends on how polluted your facility is but typically it sustains for a few years with one dose/operation.
60ppm. (6kg for 100 tons)
Yes but we’d recommend to talk to us first to provide best solution for your aquaculture facility. Contact us.

We have farmers in Japan but only a few in the rest of the world. We’ll build a network for consumers and professionals to find Happy Micro raised fishes in the future.
Happy Micro in Personal Use
Anything with water and soil could be the application such as drinking water, gardening, petting, cooking, baking, flower arrangement, deodorant, bathing and etc.
Using Happy Micro for the soil and watering plants so they can grow stronger, faster, healthier and high in antioxidants (for vegetables and fruits).
With Happy Micro, you do not need equipment for aeration, filtering and cleaning. Instead, you only need a tank, a pump, a sheet, little sand and a couple of fishes. Here’s the comparison with and without Happy Micro in 40 days .
This is not recommended officially but we’ve seen people doing it. It’s similar to home aquariums. You need a container with a water circulation function, a place for microorganisms to thrive such as filtering sheets, a slim layer of gravel on the bottom and Happy Micro. We’re also working on a Happy Micro powered home drinking water system. Feel free to subscribe Happy Micro so you can get important update from us.
If you live in Japan or countries that have drinkable tap water, you don’t need a purification system to use Happy Micro. If the water is contaminated with toxic compounds, a purification system is ideal for your health.
We have different products for different purposes. Anything with water could be the application such as drinking water for you and pets, watering plants, cooking noodles or soup, baking, flower arrangement, deodorant, bathing and etc.
You can use Happy Micro for Toilet and gradually, the smell will be taken care by microorganisms. By doing so, you’re contributing to reverse the climate.
It works similarly to Odorless Livestock. Mix a drop of “Happy Micro Pet” in tap water (about 500cc). It quickly transforms into a supplement containing essential amino acids, nutritious enzymes with more than 20 types of minerals.
Yes. Essentially, Happy Micro water is similar to water that you drink in the mountain full of minerals and microorganisms. We haven’t found a case of illness by drinking Happy Micro Water or putting on our skin. An anecdotal case is that our innovator takes a bath almost every day and he hasn’t been changed the water for 10+ years. Yes, the water is clean and odorless and it’s empowered by Happy Micro.
We haven’t experimented but we’d love to know if anyone has tried that! We’ll set up a social media for everyone to share how they have fun with Happy Micro! Feel free to subscribe Happy Micro so you can get important update from us.
